A Bit of Our History
The best of our history comprises the generations of software development from the beginning (from the age of the original, and literal, “floppy” discs!). Our first funeral home software developed, and the first of its kind in the industry, was TDA (The Director’s Assistant®) for DOS 1985. Following that, a number of updates have taken place over the years:

- The Directors Assistant® for Windows, 1995
- The Director's Assistant® Millennium Edition, 2000
- The Director's Assistant®.net, 2007
- The Smart Director®, 2014
- The Director's Assistant® Web (TDAW®) 2023
Then, at last, our latest update has brought our flagship product back to tee·daw: TDAW® (The Director’s Assistant® Web). Our historical focus has been to outpace industry standards for Deathcare Management needs in developing newer, better funeral home software resources and products for whatever new services are desired by our clients and industry customers.
We’re an “old” company, but we’re the industry leader. We like to say: Born in the Past, Built for the Future.
One of the Largest, One of the Last
Throughout our years in business, our industry has been notorious for mergers, acquisitions, and consolidations. There are some who still claim to be independent, but are majority-owned (or wholly owned) by holding companies or parent companies. Not us.
We’re still majority independently owned and family owned, and one of the last and largest to be able to say so. We house our support personnel, customer service, and company senior management and ownership all in one place.
For these reasons, we’re confident in saying we have a competitive advantage in technical support and customer service that you won’t find anywhere else.
