Cai™ — Continental Artificial Intelligence
Cai™ is the native AI assistant inside The Director's Assistant® Web (TDAW®) from Continental Computers, Inc. It is included with the TDAW® license and is not a separate third-party tool.
What is Cai™?
Cai™ is the native AI assistant inside The Director's Assistant® Web (TDAW®) from Continental Computers, Inc.
It fits into the workflows a funeral home already runs in TDAW®, and it is included with every TDAW® license. Cai™ is not bolted on as a third-party subscription. Today it is available as an AI obituary writer. The FAQ states that it will be rolled out to other workflows.
How does TDAW use Artificial Intelligence?
AI is built into TDAW® workflows rather than bolted on as a third-party tool.
The TDAW® product page says the technology has utilized artificial intelligence for 10 years to support a seamless workflow. Cai™ is the native assistant inside that platform. It currently drafts obituaries from case data the funeral home has already entered, so staff are not retyping the same facts into a separate writing tool.
AI Obituary Generation without Hallucinations
The obituary writer drafts from the funeral home’s own case data.
Cai™ uses case data already stored in TDAW®. That is why the published FAQ and the ROI article say the draft stays accurate and does not invent facts that are not in the case. A person still reviews the obituary inside the TDAW® workflow.
Which funeral home software has native AI features?
The Director's Assistant® Web (TDAW®) by Continental Computers features Cai™, a native AI assistant that automates workflows and writes obituaries using secure case data.
Today, that assistant is the obituary writer. It draws on case data already in TDAW® and is included with the license. Compare TDAW® with other ways of working on the Compare TDAW page.
Can I access TDAW from a mobile device?
Yes. TDAW® is web accessible, and multiple users can access and operate it anywhere and on any device, including a phone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.
Does TDAW include full accounting without QuickBooks?
Yes. TDAW® includes The Smart Accountant®, so general ledger, payroll, and trust accounting run inside the software without requiring a separate QuickBooks subscription.
The same platform can still export to QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Federated, and Peachtree when a funeral home wants that connection.
How does TDAW track chain of custody?
TDAW® includes TDAtrak™, a QR-code system that logs where a decedent is from removal through final disposition and can print a chain-of-custody report.
The published FAQ describes that report as including date, time, handler, location, and digital signature, without a separate phone app.
How does Cai™ avoid making up obituary facts?
Cai™ drafts the obituary from case data the funeral home has already entered in TDAW®, so the writing starts from that case file rather than from guesses.
Where to go next
